Who we are
Unbookmark is made by Bryan Software Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company 14124040), registered office Myriad House, 114 St Mary's Road, Market Harborough, Leicestershire, LE16 7DX, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact us at hello@unbookmark.app.
What we collect
- Your email address, to sign you in.
- The links you save and any notes you add.
- The text, images and video taken from the posts you save, and what Unbookmark writes about them (a title, summary and tags).
- When your AI last used the Unbookmark connector, and the name of the AI app, so the app can show it is connected.
We do not collect your contacts, location or advertising identifiers, and we do not use tracking cookies.
What happens on your iPhone
Reading the text in slides and turning speech in videos into text both happen on your iPhone. The results are then stored with your save.
Who handles your data
| Service | What for | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Your account, your saves and their text, and the search index (built inside Supabase, so no other company sees it) | London, United Kingdom |
| Cloudflare R2 | The images and video from your saved posts | Cloudflare's storage network |
| OpenRouter | The text of a saved post, sent to the AI model it routes to, which writes the title, summary and tags | OpenRouter and the model provider, under their terms |
| Resend | Sending your sign-in code emails | Resend's email service |
| Vercel | Hosting the AI connector and this website, with cookieless visit counts | Vercel's network |
| Apple | Distributing the app through TestFlight and the App Store | Apple |
These services process data for us under their own terms and only to provide Unbookmark. We never sell your data or use it for advertising.
What your AI sees
If you connect an AI app, it can search and read your saves through the connector, only when you ask it to and only while you keep it connected. What it does with the answers is governed by that AI app's own privacy policy. You can disconnect it at any time from the AI app.
How long we keep it
Your saves are kept until you delete them. Deleting your account (Settings, Delete account) permanently removes your saves, their text, images and video, and your account.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected or deleted, and object to how we use it. You can export everything as markdown and delete your account yourself in the app, or email us. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
Unbookmark is not meant for children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and tell you in the app if the change matters.
